Kinetics of Zn–C Battery Leaching with Choline Chloride/Urea Natural Deep Eutectic Solvents

A choline chloride/urea natural deep eutectic solvent (ChCl NADES) was prepared via a green chemistry method and used to leach Zn Mn oxides from conventional Zn–C scrap batteries. FTIR 1H NMR spectroscopy were characterize the NADES. The leaching kinetics of monitored at isothermal conditions (80, 100, 125, 150 °C) two solid/NADES ratios: 3.3 10 g dm−3. It possible dissolve under all tested conditions, reaching more than 95% recovery for both metals °C after 90 min, whereas, 25 °C, it up 90% 30% 4320 min (72 h). Furthermore, controlled by boundary layer, coincident with shrinking core model. According Arrhenius plot, activation energy ranges 49.13 52.21 kJ mol−1, that 46.97 66.77 mol−1.
